Boiler House Update - January 7, 2011

January 7, 2011, Anacortes WA ---- At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2011 the Shell Puget Sound refinery experienced an upset to its Boiler House. This upset required the refinery units to safely divert process products to the flare system. There were no injuries in this incident. 911 and other agencies were notified. Refinery personnel conducted a safe and orderly shutdown of the refinery units. After a thorough inspection, the refinery is now in startup mode.
