ANACORTES, WA -- The Anacortes Waterfront Festival is a two-day community event that takes place the third weekend in May. This event has been sponsored by Shell Puget Sound Refinery for the past several years. The festival features boats, children’s activities, music and entertainment, classic car shows, along with food and craft vendors.
The refinery always has a large tent staffed by employees who volunteer their time to hand out information about the refinery, answer questions about the refining business, help coordinate give-aways and assist folks who are signing up to win prizes. This year, there were two drawings each day, and the prizes were a $300 gift certificate from Skagit Cycle, and Whale Watching Tours from Island Adventures.
“Over 34 PSR volunteers helped represent Shell in the community during the festival”, said Jody Barnett, External Affairs Coordinator. “It was a great opportunity to interact with our neighbors and stakeholders, and it was a fun weekend for everyone involved.”
